Milan is the second-largest city in Italy, situated in the northern part of the country. It is the capital of the Lombardy region, covering an area of approximately 181 square kilometers. Milan serves as a major transportation hub connecting the Mediterranean and Central Europe and is the center of Italy's industry, commerce, and finance. It became a friendship city of Shenzhen on June 13, 2018.
